Our Teenager

It's official we now have a teenager! That would be Matthew-he turned 13 on September 9th. He started the 7th grade this year and really likes it. I have to brag for a minute-What a good kid he is! I was nervous for him and worried he would fall behind-but that is not the case! Sometimes I think my kids are not listening to me but I know they actually are! Matthew just brought home his grades...........can I say Straight A's!!!!!!!!!!! WOW! I love this boy!! I am so proud of him-we have been telling him how important it is to get good grades hopeing he was keeping up-which he is! He has made alot of new friends and just on Saturday got to go to Lagoon-another shocker he went on "Wicked" at Lagoon like 5 times!! He is growing up!! Some of Matthew's favorites this year are-Lego's, Baseball, Basketball, Swimming, Video Games, Scouts (he is the patrol leader of his scout group), Young Mens, Camping, Fishing, Four-wheeling, hanging out with his BFF-Matthew D. and in October he is taking Hunter Safety so he can hunt next year! What an Active Kid he is! For his Birthday he wanted to go to Tucano's with his second family the Desantigo's-they tell me all the time "Matthew is adoptable". We all went to Tucanos with our friends the Desantigo's and had a great time to celebrate both Matthew and Mckay's Birthday's! SO SO proud to be his Mom!! Happy Birthday Matthew!

Mckay Turns 10

Mckay turned 10 years old on September 10th! He is such a good kid and fun to be around! Mckay has been playing soccer and is pretty good-he can run really fast and the kids have a hard time keeping up with him. At one of his games a guy came up to us and asked Mckay if he was interested in playing Club Soccer? We weren't sure what that was-its basically accelerated soccer you play all over Utah County. The guy that approached us was the coach for the U10 team. Mckay has been practicing with Nebo Club Soccer U10 team and has really learned alot and enjoys it. They already started Fall so Mckay can't play but he is planning on being on the team and playing in the Spring! He is very excited about that-he is playing soccer 3 nights a week! Busy Busy! I think Soccer is his "thing" he loves it and has even mentioned not playing baseball next year! Mckay was worried about having Asthma and that he would not be able to play sports. After talking with the Doctor he felt better-he just had to take a week off and get better and watch his breathing when he is playing. Mckay is in the 4th grade this year and enjoys that. Some of his favorites this year are, Lego's (as always),Soccer, Basketball, Swimming, Baseball, Reading, Scouts, Camping, Four-Wheeling, Fishing, playing X-Box, he is kinda a homebody and not as social as my other kids-(which I enjoy)! His favorite foods are, Pizza, Pickles,Chicken Nuggets, Grilled Cheese, Apples, Hot dogs, Candy, Candy and McDonald's! Happy Birthday Mckay-Love you lots!

"Due-Over"

Well-needless to say it's been a long month!! I am ready for a "Due-Over!" Do you ever feel that way? Alot has happened this month (September)-some good, but mostly not so good! The kids are all back in school-which is great and crazy all at the same time! It was Matthew and Mckay's Birthday's-also GREAT! But on the bad side it's been tough! Jake wrecked his Ford Truck-thankfully nobody was hurt!! Jake hit a cement barrier on the freeway between Center Street in Provo and university Parkway in Orem-you can see his nice 20 foot scrape on the cement wall. The steering broke and the truck may be totalled! Were just waiting to hear back from the insurance-I'm sure you all no how fun that is to deal with. YUCK! A big thanks to my parents-we have been driving my dad's truck for 2 weeks now-I don't know what we would do without there support!! Jake also has had some tooth aches and now has to have a root canal-if you know Jake he HATES the dentist. This has made him pretty miserable!! I spent a night in the ER with Mckay also not so fun! Still waiting for that bill!! He was having a difficult time breathing after benedryal and 24 hours I took him over to the ER-his O2 levels were 82-Not so good! We did 3 breathing treatments and they think he may have Asthma-also not so fun!! Marcus has also been sick alot this month and has missed a few days of school-the Dr. ordered labs and thankfully they found nothing wrong!! Just a low immune system-they think he keeps getting sick because school just started and there are all kinds of germs in a public school. All in all-We are hoping for a better October! Glad we all survived September-(hopefully nothing happens in the next few days!)

Backpacking Trip

This year Jake wanted to try backpacking-he started planning this trip in February! Jake, Craig (my brother) my Dad, Matthew and Mckay and Jared (friend) all went backpacking to Chapita Lake in the Uintaha Mountains. They had a BLAST! They hiked about 30 miles in 4 days and fished and fished catching around 100 fish total. Matthew and Mckay caught and gutted there own fish-Jake said this was hilarious to watch they were completely grossed out!! All in all it was a good experience for the boys and Jake is now planning another one for next year. I tried to get Jake to do a post but he is CRAZY busy and has no time! I did not go-But when the came home they talked to me for hours and hours about how much fun they had! I took a few days off work and hung out with Madelynn and Marcus and my sister! I am so proud of the boys for doing this(I was worried)-Jake said they were amazing never complaining just kept going and going. So glad Jake is willing to try some of these things with our family! They were exhausted when the got home-and slept late for days! Here are a few pictures:

Madelynn And Her Broken Arm

So my little monster Madelynn broke her arm!! She is so active and this time it caught up with her. She was running up the bike ramp (in a wet swimsuit) and slipped and fell and landed on her arm. After about an hour of her crying and winning about it I took her to the Doctor and they sent me for X-Rays-Sure Enough it was broke! She was so brave and tough I was Impressed! Maybe it is true....little girls with lots of brothers are tougher then the average??!! She got a Pink cast and was even proud to show it off-but that only lasted a few days! Then it was "Stupid Cast" "I hate this cast"-Well maybe you she be a little less active-Little stinker!! She is doing great and we get it off in a few days! I was telling McKay that we get it off in a few days he said "GOOD I think that's good for all of us!!" I laughed so hard!! The last week when she gets mad at one of the boys she just whacks them with her cast!! LOL I wish I could say she learned her lesson-but really She is still up to her old tricks-a day after she broke her arm she was riding her bike!! Nothing slows this girl down!

Grandma Lund

So a few weeks ago my grandma passed away. Wanted to share a few things about her that I loved! She died at the age of 92-we were lucky to have her that long! She was a VERY courageous woman! Grandma Ruth lost her husband (Kirk) to early and had to raise my mom all on her own. My mom was only 13 it was very traumatic for her to lose her dad-but grandma did her best and took care of her. She lived with us and watched us grow up for most of my childhood-I enjoyed having her there. She would always say " I'll buy if you will go get us lunch!" She had the biggest sweet tooth! She loved to take us to "Ripples" in Provo. I loved that she was amazing at sewing and made all of my Prom Dresses-they were beautiful! I loved her homemade Cinnamon Rolls! She loved her family and loved her husband so much that she did not want to even date anyone else and devoted her life to making it back to him! This brings tears to my eyes- I can't even imagine what it was like for my grandma to be reunited with her husband! I am SO SO Thankful for the gospel and that we know were she is and that she is happy!! Love you Grandma Lund!!

A Long Week Of Baseball...............

More and More Baseball-This seems to be the summer that Baseball never ended............ Matthew and Mckay's team both made the state tournament! Mckay's team was first in the City Of Payson!! They just played in a state-wide tournament!! It was a week of VERY intense baseball. Mckays team played 3 games the first day and Won all three. The next day he played 2 games and won the first and lost the next-it was a single elimination tournament so they were out! They did take 4th in the State! We had such a good time with this-it was SO Much FUN!! Mckay's team was Amazing and played so well-they only lost the last game by one point!! All in all Mckay had a GREAT year in Baseball! He hit a Grand Slam-and is still braggin about it-just ask him?!?! His whole team was in tears after they lost-His coach said they will get to be in the City Parade-Mckay can't wait!! GO Phillie's Go Mckay!!

A Good Choice

Matthew just got back from a week long Scout Camp in the High Uintahs's! Matthew's baseball team won in the City Tournament and had a chance to go to the State Tournament-what a GREAT opportunity!! Unfortunately for Matthew it was the same week of Scout Camp!! When we realized this I asked him what do you want to do?? Scout Camp Or State Baseball Tournament? Without any hesitation he said " Mom I am not missing Scout Camp!" I was surprised he loves Baseball but apparently he loves camping more!! His Scout group has been planning this scout camp for over 6 months and he was not going to miss it!! He has a GREAT Scout group!! There are 20 boys and Matthew really enjoys all of them! They are a Special group of kids! Together these 20 boys have helped baptize 2 young men who are now very active and love the gospel!! Matthew came home covered in Mud so was all of his stuff-He had such a good time!! We missed him! I am so PROUD of him-He made the right choice!! Love you Matthew!!

4th Of July Favorites

Happy 4th Of July!! I love the 4th it is one of my
favorite holidays! I love getting away from it all and
spending time with the people that matter most! We
went camping for the 4th and spent time dong some of
the things we all love to do here are a few pictures:
The company is always GREAT! This year is was
Tawnie and her family, Craig and his family and my
parents. The kids enjoy time with there cousins!

Four-wheeling is one of our family favorites! Matthew
is a great driver and LOVES to drive the 4-wheelers! We
have been teaching Mckay to drive and he is picking it up fast!
We go on ALL kinds of 4-wheeler rides!

This would be the view-we wake up to every morning!
This is one of my favorite things I love the mountains and
there beauty. You have to see it to believe it.
This is what our Country is all about!
The kids found this cute little fawn in the trees by
our camp. It was so cute! We love to see all the
animals. Every night at dusk we go for a 4-wheeler
ride to see what animals we can find! Another family
favorite!

Precious time with these FUN Kids......Absolutely Priceless!

Something really fun about this year! We had this HUGE
snow drift to play in! Utah had ALOT of snow this year-this
is the first time we have had snow to play in on the 4th! The kids
had SO much fun with this-sledding for the 4th in 80 degree weather-
can't get better then that!!!

Just look at that HAPPY Face!!! Good Times!

The snow drift was nearly 15 feet tall! Love these Boys!

What a silly girl!! She could not stay away from the snow!

Good thing I packed lots and lots of clothes for her!

All in all we had a GREAT 4th of July! Doing the things that

we all love most! Spending time together and creating good memories!

Busy Busy Neubert's!!

We have been EXTREMELY busy lately!! This is probably the busiest time of the year for our family! We have baseball, dance end of school stuff more baseball and scouts, swimming, young men's and work! We are at the ball park 4 nights a week some nights until 9:30ish! But I have to say I LOVE it! I enjoy spending my evenings outdoors and being with the boys!! Here is a quick post of our craziness!! Matthew is on the Cardinals, Mckay is on the Phillie's and Marcus is on the Orioles! Marcus tells me he is the second best player on his team-second that is to his best friend Nicholas who he says is the best!! I will have to take a picture of them they are so cute everyone at the ballpark is always laughing about them!! They both make all these silly poses after they hit a home run or catch a ball it is so fun to watch!! Mckay has been pitching a little bit and is a really good player!! He hit someone when he was pitching and has been kinda of shy because it bothered him that he hurt someone! I have to say what a nice boy-most kids don't care! Matthew is in the older league with is so fun! He is a great player! I keep waiting for him to hit a Home Run!! GO BOYS!!

Matthew graduated from the N.O.V.A. program! This program was great!! It is taught by a police officer for about 8 weeks Matthew really got alot out of this! He enjoyed learning about making good choices and staying away from drugs! It replaces the DARE program!

Matthew graduated from 6th grade and Elementary! Yikes! This is the most amazing and BEST teacher any of my kids have ever had!! She prepared Matthew for Junior High by making her students completely accountable for pretty much EVERYTHING! She is a tough teacher but that is what they need in 6th grade! We love you Mrs. Olsen thanks for making this year for Matthew GREAT!!

Madelynn had her end of year dance recital! She looks so cute! She also competed at a The Utah Valley Dance Competition and her team won 2nd place!! She got a trophy which she loved you can tell by the look on her face!! We are done with dance for the rest of the summer! Yeah Madelynn!!

The Best Thing About Being 8!

On April 30th Marcus was baptised. We decide to do a double baptism with my sister because her daughter Ashlie and Marcus were suppose to be baptised on he same day. It was alot of fun and Marcus and Ashlie were so great! It was a good day! Most of our family lives in the Pleasant Grove-American Fork area so we did it at my sisters in Cedar Hills. A BIG Thank-You to my Sister Tawnie who let us come to her house and have a little party afterwards! Marcus was so excited and nervous but he did a good job! It was fun to do them together and I think they will always remember that! Congratulations Marcus and Ashlie!!

8 is GREAT!

Yep...............another Birthday! They all come at once around here-and by Marcus's were all sick of cake. LOL It was Marcus Birthday on April 12th and he is now 8. We celebrated by going to Pirate Island-some were he has always wanted to go. We had a good time and played alot! Marcus got a new bike for his Birthday he loves it! The best thing he says about his Birthday is that he caught a SNAKE! EEWWW Lucky us!! He was so excited about catching his first water snake-me not so much I hate snakes! I told him he could keep it outside in a bucket poor snake is getting all kinds of attention. I hope the Snake survives! Marcus is a fun kid to have around! He is very caring and can be very emotional! Things don't always come "EASY" for our little Marcus he has to practice lots to get things right! That is what is so special about him! He tends to seek out the kids that need friends the most and he is always kind to everyone. His school teacher told me that Marcus really helps in her class by telling the kids to listen and be nice. I admire that about him-I think that it is SO important to be Kind to EVERYONE! He likes to catch bugs, snakes really anything, he likes to ride his bike, play with all of his friends and he loves to make his little sister happy! His favorite food is Spaghetti, Pizza, pickles, apples and McDonald's! He has such a kind spirit and we just love him!! He will be getting baptized later this month on the 30th with his cousin Ashlie! Happy Birthday Mister Marcus!!
